
Dr. Mona Al Moussli, Managing Director at Professional Regulatory Affairs (PRA) conducted an introductory workshop on the upcoming PCC2019 conference, for attending students on January 21st, 2019. Students were oriented on the various fields available for pharmacy professionals other than the traditional community and clinical routes, the importance of discovering one’s area of interest early in the career path and prioritizing the factors that influence career choices. Students and attending faculty members were also oriented on the schedule of the PCC conference, expected career guidance sessions from experienced professionals in different fields including academia, regulatory bodies, and pharmaceutical industries. Students were informed that there will be hiring partners for those interested and one on one advise on building resumes.
The workshop was attended by students from all years of study, with most being from the fourth year onwards up to APPE. On attending the workshop, students became interested to learn more about the career options out there, build their resumes and network with students from other colleges and experienced professionals. They expressed their anticipation to attend the conference and find mentors in their fields of interest.
Dean Khalifa commented: Such career advising sessions are very important for our students as they play an important role in opening doors for our students to accomplish their goals through a suitable career.
