In December of 2021, Sherief Khalifa, Vice Chancellor for Quality & Global Engagement was invited to meet with the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education. QAA leadership in the meeting included: Vicki Stott, Chief Executive Officer, Stephanie Sandford, Director of International and Professional Services and Julie Till, Head of Business Development, International & Professional Services.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide feedback on the International Quality Review (IQR) process and to discuss QAA’s plans for international membership for institutions accredited by QAA.

Gulf Medical University has received international accreditation for 5 years from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), UK’s independent quality body and a global leader in quality assurance for higher education (Link).
The review, which took place in April 2021, was completed by a team of three independent reviewers, including international experts and a student reviewer appointed by QAA. In making their conclusions, the review team confirmed that GMU meets all 10 of the European Standards and Guidelines.
This is an important milestone in the history of GMU and one that reflects GMU’s quality, growth, and development as a leading international academic healthcare institution.
