The ceremony was honored and inaugurated by the presence of H. E. Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuami, Chairman-Rulers Court, Ajman on the 25, May 2010 at Gulf Medical University, Ajman.

Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of the Gulf Medical University, expressed the vision and commitment towards promoting research in pharmacy and signifies that this new facility shall cater to research needs and will significantly increase the access that the pharmacy students will have to the latest technology in pharmacy education. Also present were the College of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Arun Shirwaikar, the university’s faculties, staffs and students.

The College of Pharmacy labs inaugurated are:

1) Pharmaceutics Lab – In this lab the students will formulate the medicines, test them for quality, pack and label.

2) Medicinal Chemistry & Phytochemistry Lab – Here the students will synthesize, identify and analyze the Medicinal Agents. Also they will study Herbal Drugs their extraction and separation of active constituents.

The Gulf Medical University is the only university in the region which imparts Pharm D (Professional Degree) Program.
