Dr. Venkataramana Vannala
Dr. Venkataramana is currently holding Assistant Professor position in Orthodontics at College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University since 2015 and serving as Specialist orthodontist at Thumbay Dental Hospital located in the university campus. He has total 15 years of academic & clinical experience in India and UAE. Parallel to his academic track, he also has immense clinical experience in clinical orthodontics to manage all kinds of orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic cases among all age groups.
Dr.Venkataramana completed Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences, Bangalore University, India in 1999 and obtained Master of Dental Surgery degree (MDS) in 2004 from Annamalai University, India one of the prestigious and renowned public universities in India. After his masters program, in 2005 he started his teaching career in his parent institution i.e, Annamalai University, and successfully accomplished Ph.D degree from the same university in 2012 and emerged as 5th Ph.D degree holder at India level in orthodontic fraternity.
Before his arrival to UAE (before 2015), He was formerly worked as an Associate Professor position at Faculty of Dentistry, Annamalai University and Professor position at Panineeya Institute of Dental Sciences, NTR Heath University, India. He worked as Assistant Professor in Zliliten Dental College, Misuratah University, Libya for about ‘2’ academic years i.e., 2008 to 2010. He also served as external and internal examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate programs for some Indian universities such as NTR University of Health Sciences, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and MGR Medical university, and also served as examiner for some Libyan universities such as Misuratah Universitry and 7th April University, Zawia, Libya.
Dr.Venkataramana is one of the chief author among three for “Text Book of Orthodontics “ published by Paras Medical Publishers, India one of the largest circulated undergraduate textbook all over India. He has ‘35’ publications in national & international journals. He has participated in conferences, workshops, hands-on courses related to the orthodontic specialty both national and international level in India, Libya and UAE.
Dr.Venkataramana is a life member of Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS) and Indian Dental Association (IDA). He is also member of World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO). His areas of interests include Interdisciplinary Orthodontics, Functional jaw orthopedic treatment for children, Lingual Orthodontics, complex orthodontic cases, surgical orthodontics and application of Mini-Screw Anchorage in Orthodontics.
