Gulf Medical University has received international accreditation for 5 years from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), UK’s independent quality body and a global leader in quality assurance for higher education (Link).
The review, which took place in April 2021, was completed by a team of three independent reviewers, including international experts and a student reviewer appointed by QAA. In making their conclusions, the review team confirmed that GMU meets all 10 of the European Standards and Guidelines.
The review team also identified a number of features of good practice:
- Effective use of external examiners, and externality more broadly, in assuring assessment standards and external benchmarking.
- Multiple opportunities for students to provide feedback, which has positively impacted on the overall learning experience.
- GMU’s Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness portal, which provides staff at all levels with easy access to data and information.
This is an important milestone in the history of GMU and one that reflects GMU’s quality, growth, and development as a leading international academic healthcare institution.
